Ceduna OysterfestThe South Australian town of Ceduna hosts Australia’s largest oyster festival, the annual Oysterfest.

Taking place from 2-5 October, the festival offers music, dance, competitions for all ages, crafts, wine and the wonderful fresh oysters from Smoky Bay and Denial Bay on the beautiful Murat Bay foreshore at Ceduna.

Kicking off with a colourful opening celebration on the first morning, the Oysterfest celebrations don’t let up until the final evening of festivities.

Adults will love the array of concerts and gourmet treats, while kids are well catered for with storytelling, hands-on workshops and competitions.

Competitions include the state Oyster Opening Championships, an oyster opening and eating competition, and plenty of have a go competitions such as a donut eating competition, gopher races, a tug of war and wheelie bin races.
