
The D2 (the ‘route des Châteaux’ or ‘Quality Stree’) is possibly the most famous road in the Bordeaux region, and driving up the D2 is like driving through a wine list. Passing one grand example of architecture after another, the road sweeps through the famous appellations of Médoc, Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estèphe. And most of these have great roadside restaurants.

Known as the ‘Garden of France’, the Loire is one of the most beautiful areas of France and the producer of some of the most delicious wines around. On 5 and 6 September you will have the opportunity to discover this UNESCO World Heritage Site and its wines by joining one of 12 fascinating themed Wine Walks led by Loire winegrowers.

Saddle up and head out into an ancient land of forest, meadows and valleys, following trails through spectacular countryside during a centre-based holiday in the Dordogne. Alternatively, ride through the vineyards of Bordeaux, sampling the finest regional wines and savouring local gourmet meals en route.
